 Selichot Institute

September 2014

The Selichot Institute, hosted by the Men's Club, welcomed Yaron Sideman, Consul General of Israel for our region, for an informative and enlightening evening. Mr. Sideman joined our Park Family Connection and Young Mensches members for dinner and discussion, then spoke to the congregation about the latest developments (both political and cultural) in Israel. Everyone enjoyed a delicious cheese and dessert reception before the program. Thank you to Ezra's Dairy for supplying a delicious sampling of their feta cheese. The evening concluded with the Selichot service featuring the Park Synagogue Holiday choir. Click on the first image to start the slideshow.

Robert M. Leitson Memorial Fund Lecture
March 2014

We had a full house in attendance to hear local author, Mary Doria Russell, discuss the role of the Italian people in World War II that saved many Jewish people's lives. Her book, A Thread of Grace, uncovers this often over-looked history. It was a fascinating (and delicious!) evening sponsored by the Robert M. Leitson Memorial Fund, with the support of the Park Synagogue Library, Sisterhood, and the Women's Rosh Chodesh Group. Many thanks to Marlene Leitson and Jay Leitson and Cafe 56 for providing a wonderful Italian dinner which followed the discussion. Grazie! See the photos of the evening below.
