Park Was Crazy with Kugels at the Kugel Cook-off!

Kugels, kugels, kugels! Park was crazy with kugels at the Kugel Cook-off Luncheon on May 5^th! Winners of the Kugel Cook-off were Rabbi Sharon Marcus in the savory kugel category, and Sharon Epstein and Charlotte Kaminsky in the sweet kugel category. Thanks to all our creative Park chefs who made their delicious kugels earlier in the week to be judged and served at the luncheon. Thank you to Judy Becker, Jackie Brooks, Sharon Epstein, Johanna Goldfarb, Joan Horowitz, Charlotte Kaminsky, Rabbi Sharon Marcus, Mary Perlmutter, Ieda Warshay, Jordan Wexler & Ruth Baker, Ellen Young, and Park’s 7^th grade Kashruth & Cooking Class.

Thanks also to our dedicated judges who took their job very seriously—Linda Griffith, Marlene Leitson, and Cantor Misha Pisman. They did a “blind” judging, not knowing who had made each kugel, and tasted and then rated the 12 kugels in 5 areas: taste, richness, appearance, originality, and consistency. The winners each received a beautiful kugel server handmade and donated by Jackie Brooks.

Thanks to the hardworking committee from the Women’s Rosh Chodesh Group, sponsor of the event: Lee Apple, Judy Becker, Jackie Brooks, Sharon Epstein, Donna Levine, Audrey Lowe, Joyce Norr, Mina Saidel, and Susan Stone. Money raised from this event went to Park’s Nashim Fund for Jewish Education for Women.
