Park Synagogue welcomes David Makovsky to lead our annual Shavuot Study Session. He will present:
The Inside Story Behind a Secret IsraeliAttack
Mr. Makovsky will relate to us a first-hand account of an actual Israeli secret military mission and its
possible lessons for Iran today.

The Shavuot Study Session is free and open to the community.
An elegant catered hors d'oeuvre & dessert reception will follow.
The Erev Shavuot service on May 14 will begin at 6:45 pm at Park Synagogue East.

Arguably the leading expert on Israel today, Mr. Makovsky has had direct access to the last four Israeli prime ministers; received lifetime member status in the Council on Foreign Relations and the International Institute for Strategic Studies; and was the first journalist writing for an Israeli publication to visit Damascus. Author of numerous essays related to the Middle East peace process, Mr. Makovsky is also co-author of Myths, Illusions, and Peace: Finding a New Direction for America in the Middle East.

He is the Ziegler Distinguished Fellow and Director of the Project on the Middle East Peace Process at The Washington Institute. He is also an adjunct professor in Middle East studies at Johns Hopkins University's Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies.

We are delighted to host Mr. Makovsky during Shavuot.
In addition to the Shavuot Study Session on May 14, he will share his thoughts and evocative perspective on the Middle East with us for the morning Shavuot service on
Thursday, May 16 at Park Synagogue East at 9:00 am.
